Nomad Donuts is a local donut shop that, until recently, was located on 30th Street in University Heights. It's new location is not far away in North Park at 3061 University Ave. The corner location is easy to find at University and Illinois and on a late Wednesday morning, parking was pretty easy to come by. I had the vegan Cherry Chipotle Lime and it was by far, the best donut I have ever had. It was soft and chewy. The cherry flavor was light, not overpowering, with a hint of chipotle. The chipotle had just a slight heat, and was a perfect compliment. I love their interesting flavor combinations. I am really happy to see that they have more seating. I liked their old location, but it was tiny and there really wasn't anywhere to sit, unless you went on a super off time. I'll be back soon! less

With the heightened popularity of the local brewery's and the never ending pop-up of new eateries around town it's no wonder North Park has become the number one haven for young professionals and locals alike. Boasting old architecture and familiar landscapes with new modern ideals has made North Park a place on everyone's list to either live or experience. less

North Park fascinates visitors and residents alike with its visible history that began more than 100 years ago. In the early 1900s, the streetcar lines of John D. Spreckels' San Diego Electric Railway brought investors, residents, and shopkeepers to a nearly empty, scrub-covered mesa. The streetcars that ran along University Avenue (Number 7) and 30th Street (Number 2) met in 1911 and created the "Busy Corner," then and now the commercial heart of the community.
