Some of the finest Inns in America are right here on the Eastern Shore. If you are looking for a romantic weekend getaway or a cozy dinner by fireside there are many unique options. Here is just a sample of these most cherished travelers’ havens.

When you visit Oxford, it is impossible to miss the Robert Morris Inn. The iconic building was constructed as the River House in 1710 and has been an Inn since 1800, making it the oldest full-service Inn in America. Local masons’ and ship carpenters’ craft can be seen in the red brick fireplaces and oak timbers used throughout the structure.  The historic restaurant is a cozy refuge where great cuisine is presented with friendly, professional care.

    KITTY KNIGHT HOUSE, Georgetown, MD

The historic Kitty Knight House is an exquisite 18th century waterfront Inn and restaurant overlooking the Sassafras River. Breathtaking views, farm to table cuisine and 11 luxuriously appointed rooms make this a shining gem on the Chesapeake Wine Trail & Chesapeake Country National Scenic Byway. Lovely common areas and beautiful gardens have made the Inn a favorite venue for weddings, personal parties and corporate events.

OLD BRICK INN, St. Michael’s, MD

Located in the middle of town the Inn features 18 beautifully appointed rooms in three distinctive locations. The Kemp House, a Georgina style home built in 1807, the Wrightson Jones House, circa 1816, constructed by the shipbuilder and his wife and the Carriage House that was created in 1980 and built in the 1800’s architecture style of New Orleans all offer accommodations that are the perfect mix of historic detail and modern amenities.
