Richmond Hill, GA is centrally located along Georgia's colonial coast, between Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Stewart. Located only 20 minutes outside of Savannah, Richmond Hill remains among the fastest growing communities in the nation.
Richmond Hill is known as the town that Ford built. In 1925, Henry and Clara Ford built a winter home here. Ford eventually enlarged his land holdings and built houses for his employees, along with schools and other community buildings. A town was born, and the Ford Plantation still stands in Richmond Hill to this day.
Richmond Hill is also home to Indian Bluff, a 25-acre refuge along Buckland Creek that was purchased and restored by the late Jim Williams. Williams, a renowned antiques dealer and history buff, was the central character of the best-selling novel, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, which catapulted Savannah and her surrounding areas into the national spotlight over a decade ago.
