Larry S. Beck came to Long Beach in 1952 with his family from Toledo, Ohio. He was raised in the Long Beach Plaza neighborhood attending Cubberley Elementary School, DeMille Junior High, Millikan High (go Rams!) and Long Beach Community College. He purchased his first home in California Heights then moved to Belmont Shore in the late 1970's where he raised his two daughters, Marnie and Jessica. Both girls attended Lowell, Rogers and Wilson schools. Larry's first career was with the IBEW as a journeyman electrician and ultimately a supervisor on major commercial and industrial construction projects around the greater Los Angeles area. He worked on jobs for Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Blue Cross, Renaissance Hotel in downtown Long Beach, Garrett Air Research, Texaco, American Broadcasting Company and NBC Studios to name a few. He stepped back from that industry in 1989 to launch his successful real estate career.
