Born and raised in West Caldwell, New Jersey, and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Ellen studied Architecture at Auburn University, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Early in her career she had the honor of working for Kelbaugh & Lee Architects, Princeton, on major public passive solar projects and design competitions, gaining name recognition in architectural journals. This was followed by an 8-year career as an Architectural Designer of multi-family residential for firms in New Jersey Santa Monica, including the responsibility for coordinating architectural presentation renderings.
After her design career, Ellen transitioned into working as an Artist, marketing her original pen ink renderings, prints and note-cards at prestigious art shows in Los Angeles. Her work is found in distinguished collections including commissions for former USC President Stephen Sample, The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the Malibu Adamson House, and the official Grand Canyon park gift shops.
From 2004-09, Ellen held a CA real estate appraiser's license, and worked as an independent fee appraiser throughout Los Angeles. This experience has enhanced her real estate sales by giving her CMAs a technical credibility which she applies to her Comparative Market Valuations, helping buyers & sellers alike, by giving realistic expectations of what the value of their real estate may be.
Throughout this professional background is over 18 years' experience in retail, which ultimately provided sales tools needed in pursuing a successful real estate career. Volunteer work within her children's elementary schools including chairing Lockhurst ES School Site Council; grant writing and playground shade tree planting with The Tree People; fundraising; chaperoning her son's 2005 Welby Way Magnet 5th Grade trip to Washington/Philadelphia; and chairing her daughter's 2009 5th Grade Commencement Committee for Lockhurst ES, have taught her additional valuable skills. Today she shares her knowledge of school districts, programs and connections with clients. Having fulfilled a commitment to being present in her children's elementary education, she earned her real estate license in the Spring of 2010.
By 2017 Ellen had finished an impressive year of sales, earning a former broker's distinction of Leading Edge Society, placing her in the top 9% of all agent affiliates nationwide. In the summer of 2019 she accepted an invitation to join Coldwell Banker Realty in Calabasas, where great things awaited her. She has never felt more supported by management, and enthusiastic about the technology and marketing resources she now has to offer her clients. By early summer 2020, she had earned the distinction of Top 10% of Agents in her brokerage, surpassing sales expectations with her strongest year to date, amid a challenging COVID market. Ellen feels she has found a way to fuse her passion for Architecture with an enthusiasm for our extraordinary California Real Estate Market, giving her a unique insight which she applies every day as a REALTOR. She brings a strong understanding of contracts, an unwavering work ethic to her profession, and a desire to help clients attain the best deal possible for their home, with pride of ownership and solid real estate investment.
