The first thing you learn about living on the beautiful Suncoast is that just about everyone is from somewhere else. So you'll feel right at home in your new community along with me and everyone else.

    My journey began in Columbus Ohio, where I grew up and studied English and Journalism at The Ohio State University. I spent several years as a librarian in a teaching hospital (very interesting work) until I got my first big publishing break in 1980. That began a nearly 35 year career as Ad Director, GM or Publisher of a variety of progressive weekly newspapers in garden spots like Santa Fe, Colorado Springs and Scottsdale. (and a few places a little less garden-like but hey, I never like to complain.)

    I said goodbye to publishing in 2012 and hello to sunny Sarasota. I live in a cozy villa about 4 miles from downtown Sarasota with my two cats (who never mind when I work late!) I can honestly say I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to landed in this fun, friendly community. I'm having a great time with my 'second act' career in real estate -- lucky to meet interesting people from around the world, helping them figure out where and how they want to live and finally guiding them through the somewhat complex and paper-laden processes required to buy / sell property.

    Are you the seller? I've been very successful representing sellers ... and I could tell you stories about the many complex situations I've been asked to handle for those sellers. (Like arranging for repairs, packing and shipping personal belongings, arranging for deep cleaning after a health emergency, decluttering and removing unneeded furnishings to have the home show it's best.)  Staging can be complex ... but I'm a pro at it. I have a team of service providers at the ready to declutter, fix, paint ... whatever it takes I'll get it done in record time and for a very reasonable price.

    Once your home is ready to sell, it is essential that we price and market it creatively, allowing you to get the best price and negotiate terms that best fit your needs. Sometimes the hardest part of the process is helping you choose between what can be a complex bunch of offers.    Because price is important but it isn't always the key factor.     I am a savvy professional who will take you from point A all the way to the closing table!   Don't believe the commercials ... selling a property is complex and a legally binding proposition.  I'll watch your back and keep you on track every step of the way.

     

    Are you the buyer? I have a real soft spot for buyers ... many are worried that this busy and competitive market means they don't stand a chance at securing a property anywhere from the Skyway Bridge to Punta Gorda ... and everywhere in between. 

    Every buyer deserves a realtor who WORKS for you ... not just send you every listing in the book.   My first step is to try and understand who you are ... what's fun? Are you all about the beach? Boating? Eager to get out of the city and have a garden or horses? Foodie? Water sports? Culture is your #1 thing? There is a community and neighborhood that will feel just like home for you but the key to success in this competitive market is to help you find the community and location that fits YOU.   

    I'll be watching the market for the right properties every day;  if you're shopping from afar it will be very important for you to be ready to let me know right away if you see a property that 'fits.' If you aren't able to physically be here I'll visit the property, provide you with a video tour and answer all your questions ... even prepare an offer (that you can sign electronically) to meet what can often be very quick deadlines to submit paperwork to 'win the day.'
