Michael O'Phelan

My life is characterized by hard work, diligence and unparalleled dedication to the cause I am striving for. I put myself through College at the University of MN Institute of Technology earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering while working full time and raising two young children. I then went on to design computer disk drives for 6 years, then spent 15 years developing implantable medical devices to correct erratic heart rhythms. During this time, I invented over 50 patentable ideas which transformed the industry.

In 2001, I graduated with a Master’s degree in Theology, and was not quite sure what I was going to do with that. I began searching earnestly for an answer to that question.

In 2004 my wife of 31 years and I purchased a large resort/restaurant and gift shop which was about to go under. We had a total of six children at this point. Having spent my life to that point purchasing, renovating and flipping old homes, this was a perfect opportunity for us. After 13 years of grueling effort (and having bought and sold a second resort during this period), we were able to sell the resort, restaurant and bar as well as our private residence and had intended to retire.

I was completely bored in retirement and decided to pursue my dream of becoming a realtor. I am now licensed in three different states, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Sunny Florida, where I reside on Longboat Key off the coast of Sarasota.

I enjoy helping people relocate within and between the states I am licensed in.
